Renee Zellweger / Eve

As I mentioned in my previous review, I was a bit leery of this combo. I had no other feelings, but I was giving it a chance anyway. Besides, I've been proved wrong on many occasions.

[COLD OPENING] The Culps

Ahh, The Culps....can't go wrong! I was expecting a Bush opening, but change is usually a good thing. They were funny as always...what more can I say?

RATING : 8/10

[MONOLOGUE] Renee Zellweger

Good idea writers! The comments left in her diary were quite funny, especially the Titanic and Chris Kattan ones. But, she was so quiet you could barely even hear her. It was almost as if she was whispering. Oh well, funny all the same.

RATING : 7.5/10

[COMMERCIAL] Subshack

See my Conan O'Brien review...

[SKETCH] Jerry Maguire 2 : Show Me The Sequel!

I never saw the original Jerry Maguire, so I didn't think I'd catch the drift of this sketch. But, Horatio was hilarious anyway, so this was funny. Jimmy Fallon's Tom Cruise impression was really good, but I think I liked Ben Stiller's better (from Celebrity Jeopardy a few years back). The funniest part of the sketch was when Horatio just came out of the costume department after trying to look smaller, and he was wearing the gigantic glasses and juice box. Very funny sketch!

RATING : 9.5/10

[SKETCH] Hardball with Chris Matthews

I've begun to love these sketches. Darrell making fun of Chris Kattan's character is hilarious. "10 year old girl, very small penis, etc." Renee's sayings were decent, but Chris Parnell's idea of sending in poisonous snakes to China had me rolling. Great once again, we need more of these!

RATING : 9.5/10

[SKETCH] A Wedding Story

This wasn't that great. In fact, it was really stupid. What a waste of time.

RATING : 2/10

[CARTOON] Fun With Real Audio

The audio was put together so poorly that you could barely understand what they were trying to say. Luckily, the funny part of the sketch was all visual anyway. I didn't find it that funny.

RATING : 3/10

[WEEKEND UPDATE] With Jimmy Fallon & Tina Fey

Probably one of the best Weekend Updates of the season. There were a lot of very funny jokes, and Jacob Silj's appearance was great. Once again, they've done it again

RATING : 9.5/10

[MUSIC] Eve feat. Gwen Stefani

If you've read my other reviews, you'd know by now that I don't like this type of music. I had to flip the channel once my ears started to bleed.

[SKETCH] After-Date TV Show Theme Songs

This wasn't that great. It was pretty funny when Chris Kattan puked all over Renee, but that's it. It felt like the show was winding down right about now.

RATING : 4.5/10

[SKETCH] Crazy Doctor

Now, this is a sketch they should have brought back LONG ago! I loved this so much the first time last season, and it was even better this time. It took the audience a while to realize that Molly Shannon was standing there, and that surprised me. And, once again, Will caused another cast member to burst out laughing during the sketch. Meh, I can't blame them, I couldn't keep a straight face. This is the kind of comedy I love. Great job!

RATING : 9.5/10

[MUSIC] Eve

I couldn't hear it because I had gauze in my ears.

[SKETCH] Classical Music Classics

Great lyrics on the classical music, very funny! Good way to end off the show!

RATING : 6/10

Sketch of the night : Hardball

Quote of the night : Horatio Sanz as the kid from Jerry Maguire "My mom says orections are as natural as a rainstorm, and I'm going through a rainy season!"

    OVERALL EPISODE RATING : 69/100

Well, I suppose this episode was better than I expected, but that's not saying much. I have a good feeling about the next live episode though. Pierce Brosnan may well be my favorite actor, but Destiny's Child is my least favorite musical group. Heh, what a combo! I can't wait.
