Why, Who or What is "The Voice of Reason"? Well, That's me! Rather, that's my nickname on the web, shortened to TVOR (I pronounce it "Tee-vor").
A few of my friends who approach life with an enthusiastic attitude started calling me that because I tend to have a much steadier and even-handed approach to life, most of the time. They say I'm their anchor, their "Voice of Reason" when they need one. They are my "kick in the seat" when I need one. See, I'm the type of person that can be spontaneous, IF you give me a bit of advance notice! LOL!
Anyway, that's how i got the nickname so when I went online I decided "Tvor" was the only logical nickname for me and that's what I've stayed with.
I am a computer programmer and have officially hit middle age. I work for the Halifax Regional Municipality in Halifax, Nova Scotia (which is a little province off the east coast of Canada). My family and friends are the most important things to me and there's nothing i like better than spending time with them. My other passions are travelling and Coronation Street, both of which are the main focuses of this website. Virtual Tourist is a great travel site, full of tips from real travelers about places all over the world! I started up a page for my own summaries and tips. It's not replacing my own travelogue website (see below). In any case this website will help you find information on many, many destinations. Another great travel site with travelogues and photos is IgoUgo and I have a profile there as well.
Yes, I've succumbed to the masses on Facebook. You can add me but i'll only accept people i know and please, *please*, if you do? Don't send me all those Facebook applications and things. I've even succumbed to Twitter! Eeek! 
I have my "blog" on Livejournal. Rantings, ravings, everyday comings and goings, occasional movie reviews... it's all there. I love to travel!!! I went to Europe for the first time in 1977 on a school trip and though I didn't have the opportunity for years afterward, always yearned to travel and see new places and things. In 1993 I set off on a bus tour around the U. K. I've been lucky to be able to travel to lots of places but there are still a lot yet to be experienced. My most favourite television show is Coronation Street, a drama or "soap opera" originating in the U.K. which has been on the air since December 9, 1960! Corrie has brought a lot to my life in terms of friendships, travel and love (I met my fella in a Corrie chat room!).
