KIDLINGTON FAN NEWEST CORRIE STAR!

It can now be revealed that Michael Plowman, a resident of Kidlington, Oxfordshire, spent a hectic day on the set of Coronation Street, the UK's favourite continuing "folk opera". Mr. Plowman was the enthusiastic grand prize winner in the Peckham Retailers, Anoraks and Traders annual raffle. PRAT holds the annual fund raising raffle each year to support local charities dedicated to providing platform shelters for the multitudes of trainspotters in this country. The winner was awarded the chance to film several scenes with his favourite Coronation Street star.

Mr.Plowman hosts a web site which features still photos gleaned from the live Granada TV broadcasts of Coronation Street and a brief summary of the escapades of the Weatherfield community. He is well known for his devastating opinions of characters he dislikes while enthusiastically promoting his favourites. However we have learned that not all is as it appears! It seems his tirade against some past characters belies a different opinion!

When informed that he was the prize winner, Mr. Plowman had no hesitation as to which celebrity he wanted to appear with in his scene! "Margi Clarke, No question! I am quite partial to aggressive women." In his excitement, he let slip heretofore well-kept secrets. "I didn't think anyone could ever replace Beverly Callard ("Liz MacDonald") in my affections but I was wrong!" The characters Liz and Jackie had taken a lot of abuse by Mike and many of his website's devotees were under the mistaken impression that he preferred Vicky Entwistle ("Janice Battersby"). "Oh, that was just a cover for my real passions for Beverly and Margi" Ms. Clarke played the gobby ex-convict and squatter Jackie Dobbs until several months ago when she was swept off her feet by her husband who was hoping for a reconciliation.

Mr. Plowman travelled to Manchester in late February by train and was given a script to memorize. The scene he filmed featured Ms. Clarke in a red sexy dress, much to the delight of the erstwhile winner. The scene was reshot later with Bruce Jones as Les Battersby and was aired the week before Jackie Dobbs made her exit from the most famous Street in the world.

"It's a dream come true, I'll never ever forget it! Ms. Clarke was a true professional and a lovely woman in real life, just as I had hoped she would be." was Mr. Plowman's ecstatic recollection of his exciting day! "The photos taken while I was performing will hang on my wall with pride!"
